Core Training:

A wise old man asked me one day "Where do you start when building a house?","The foundations" I answered. "Exactly" he replied. "So why should we not start off with building our own foundations (Core) when starting our own programs etc"..."Emmm I said, that makes so much sense". That wise old man? The guru himself, CPT Gary Mcilwaine. - Kev.

If you suffer from back pain 99% of the time it comes down to you not having a strong enough Core, which then can lead to you slouching over because your Core is not strong enough to hold your own body weight, which then results in you having bad Posture. Make sure when doing any type of exercise, or when sitting down or bending down to pick up something, that you brace your Core and keep a natural alignment going through your spine (straight), just by doing small things like this can make a difference from you suffering from back pain and being totally pain free.

The Core is the foundation to all functional movement patterns as the limbs rely on core stability for movement and force production.

Working the Core is so much more than just doing the typical "Ab crunch" movement. Your Core is responsible for stabilizing your Spine and resisting trunk extension and rotation as well as for generating movement. Your Core is the difference between you being pushed onto the floor and being able to withhold the push by bracing it.

No matter what type of sport you play, whether a full contact sport or a game of golf, every type of sportsman needs a good strong Core. Not only that but for the average person that works in a factory all day lifting and setting down, to the person that sits behind a computer at work all day, you all need good strong Core too.
